Yikes.  I realize I have been a tad long winded in my last few posts.  I know you read every single dingle word I write.  And I know that I astound you with my mind-blowing prose.

But I'll just keep this one short and sweet.  I went to playgroup today.  This is what I wore.

I want to be a surfer girl.  I don't know why, but I have been on such a surf kick lately.  Maybe it's all the Beach Boys music I have been listening to, but I want to wake up each morning, down a protein shake, wax up my board and hit the waves.  Afterwards, I'll stop by the local coffee shop for a brew and bagel.

But I got sea sick the last time I attempted surfing nine years ago in Hawaii.  And I live in the desert.  So this fantasy is just that... a fantasy.  I'll just order a few swimsuits and bleach my hair instead.

In my attempt to throw self-consciousness out the window, I have been looking to find a bikini for this season.  I love the retro feel to a high waist style, but most of what I like are in the $200 range.  I'm not sure I'll even look good in one (since I'm pretty short waisted), so to shell out 200 bucks, I better love it.

I was perusing the Target racks and stumbled upon a bikini bottom from Spanx creator, Sara Blakely's line, Assets.  It holds my tummy in and there is no muffin toppage.  I tossed a few Xilaration bandeau tops in to mix and match and scored a retro high waist bikini set for under $50.

Time for poolside margaritas.  "Oh, Cabana Boy..."
